INDO-PARTHIANS, Aria or Margiana. Tanlis Mardates, mid-late 1st century BC. Drachm (Silver, 20 mm, 3.58 g, 12 h), Countermarked drachm of Phraates III (Sellwood type 39.3). Diademed and draped bust of Phraates III to left, wearing tiara; on bust, countermark: head left, O TAИ ΛHC around; all within circular incuse. Rev. Archer (Arsakes I) seated right on throne, holding bow; above bow, monogram. Senior 195.5aD var. (unlisted undertype). Minor scratches, otherwise, very fine.
